The Bharti Institute of Public Policy at the Indian School of Business has signed an agreement with the government of Goa to work together on evidence-based policy making and its impact in the state. The agreement was signed by Vijay B Saxena and Prof. Ashwini Chhatre in the presence of Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. They were joined by Ajit Roy and Dr. Aarushi Jain.
As part of this partnership, the Bharti Institute will assist the state government in improving social and economic indicators through workshops, capacity-building initiatives, and citizen-focused governance projects. The institute will collaborate with the Goa Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development to conduct workshops for state officials. They will also work with the Department of Information Technology to create a data portal for citizens to access and interact with open data.
The Bharti Institute will also help in utilizing bioenergy reserves and supporting forest-based communities in Goa. They will coordinate activities across departments and agencies to attract private investment and provide support for secure forest tenure, women-led enterprises, and digital interventions. Additionally, they will assist in creating market linkages.
As part of this partnership, a Legislative Support Programme will be launched to strengthen the capacity of the Goa Assembly. A Legislative Research Fellowship will also be established.
