Is Trash Piling Up at the Temple?

In Hyderabad, a case was filed by the Kalapattar police regarding negligence at a temple under Section 295(A) of the IPC. The case highlighted an incident involving two individuals attempting to shoot a Hanuman temple located beside Aksha Masjid in Bilalanagar.

The FIR stated that the two individuals were recording a video of the 15-year-old Hanuman temple. One of them, said to be a local journalist, accused a community of littering the temple and trying to take over it through a conspiracy. The duo then uploaded the video on social media to incite tensions between communities.

Constable A Satyarayana filed a complaint after seeing the video on WhatsApp, leading to the registration of a case under Section 295(A) against the two individuals. The case was then handed over to another SI for investigation.

The FIR mentioned the presence of the Hanuman temple next to Aksha Masjid under Kalapattar police limits. Questions were raised about why the local Endowments officials were unaware of the temple’s existence if it was 15 years old.

According to Dr R Sashidar from the Viswa Hindu Parishad, this incident reflects the department’s negligence in identifying temples in the Old City. He criticized the police for taking action against those highlighting issues in temples instead of addressing the department’s shortcomings.
