The Indian Railways Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications (IRISET) has completed 66 years and will celebrate its annual day on November 26. IRISET, located in Tarnaka, Secunderabad, is one of the eight Centralised Training Institutes of Indian Railways that specializes in training on railway signaling and telecommunication systems. This institute is unique because it has all types of signaling and telecommunication systems in working order under one roof.

IRISET trains new recruits through UPSC or RRB selections. The initial training lasts for about six months and focuses on the basics of railway signaling, safety in train operations, and hands-on experience in the laboratories. The institute has well-furnished classrooms and hostel accommodation to train around 500 students.
