Delhi Capitals won their first match of the season against Kolkata Knight Riders by four wickets in a rain-delayed IPL 2023 game at Arun Jaitley Stadium. The DC bowlers, including Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Ishant Sharma, and Anrich Nortje, put on an impressive show and bowled out KKR for 127. Jason Roy scored 43 off 39 and Andre Russell scored 38 not out off 31 for KKR. In reply, DC skipper David Warner scored 57 off 41 and gave his team a great start. The KKR spinners then turned the game around in the middle overs, but DC managed to seal the victory with three balls to spare.
The Rajasthan Royals maintain their top spot on the IPL 2023 points table. Faf du Plessis currently holds the orange cap with 343 runs in six matches, followed by David Warner with 285 runs in six matches and Virat Kohli with 279 runs in six matches. Mohammed Siraj from Royal Challengers Bangalore is leading the purple cap list for most wickets with 12 in six matches, followed by Lucknow Super Giants’ Mark Wood with 11 wickets in four matches and Rajasthan Royals’ Yuzvendra Chahal with 11 wickets in six matches and an economy of 8.25.
