The Dr B R Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat Complex in Hyderabad has won the Indian Green Building Council Award. The award was given to the State government for constructing an environmentally friendly building with state-of-the-art facilities. The Roads and Buildings Minister, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, received the award from members of the Indian Green Building Council. He expressed his happiness and gave credit to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who has a passion for the environment. Since the formation of the State, Telangana’s green cover has increased by 7.7 percent under KCR’s leadership. The State government plans to install solar power panels at the Secretariat to save electricity and promote renewable energy.
