The number of toxic fevers like Malaria, Dengue, and Typhoid has increased significantly in Ieeja Municipality. This is mainly due to the lack of rain conditions, which has led to an increase in mosquito populations. As a result, many urban residents have been infected with these fevers and have had to be hospitalized. While some people have been able to seek treatment in hospitals in Kurnool and other metro cities, those who are economically disadvantaged rely on government hospitals.
Those who have suffered from these toxic fevers have accused the municipal officials of negligence. They claim that the officials have not taken appropriate measures to control mosquito populations, such as maintaining sanitation, spraying insecticides, and fogging. The Hans India correspondent has even raised this issue with the municipal sanitary inspector Lakshman, manager T Rajesh Kumar, and the municipal chairman, but no action has been taken.
In light of this situation, the people of Ieeja Municipality are now requesting the collector to take appropriate action against these irresponsible officials. They hope that by doing so, the town’s residents can be protected from these various toxic fevers.
