The Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) recently started its annual Sailing Regatta in Hyderabad. Lieutenant-General Neeraj Varshney, Commandant, MCEME, and Colonel Commandant, Corps of EME, gave the opening address. Sailors from different Army units are participating in the event to showcase their skills and competitive spirit.
This regatta is also a way to identify talented sailors for further training at the Army Yachting Node and for participation in national and international events. Lt Gen Neeraj Varshney highlighted the importance of such events in improving sailors’ physical and mental resilience. He also stressed the role of sailing in developing teamwork, strategic thinking, and perseverance, which are important qualities for service personnel.
The event aims to promote discipline and teamwork among participants. It provides a platform for sailors to demonstrate their dedication and training. The Corps of EME Sailing Association organizes the regatta to bring together sailors from various Army units for a friendly competition.
