Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has accused the country’s army of being responsible for his arrest. Speaking from his home in Lahore, Khan stated that the army should be ashamed of becoming involved in politics. He also suggested that the army form its own political party. Khan had previously locked himself in the Islamabad High Court, fearing re-arrest, but was granted bail on Friday. In his address, he also criticised the government of Shehbaz Sharif, claiming that it feared defeat in upcoming elections and was seeking to cause anarchy in the country. The Islamabad High Court has granted Khan protective bail for two weeks in a corruption case and banned authorities from arresting him until Monday.
