IIT Hyderabad and Nikon India Launch Advanced Imaging Centre
The Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IITH), along with Nikon India, has inaugurated a new Nikon Centre of Excellence (CoE) at the IIT Hyderabad campus. The centre was launched on Monday and is aimed at offering state-of-the-art imaging technologies to students, visiting scholars, and collaborators from across the country.
Officials stated that the centre will enable researchers to study biological systems at different scales, ranging from single cells to entire human tissues. This is expected to pave the way for significant advancements in high-resolution imaging and biological research.
The facility is equipped with cutting-edge tools such as a Nikon inverted microscope Ti2-E for fluorescence imaging, a Nikon TS2FL inverted tissue culture microscope, and a Nikon SMZ 800 microscope with a fluorescence attachment for macro imaging.
Speaking about the initiative, Professor B.S. Murty, Director of IIT Hyderabad, said, “This initiative aligns perfectly with our goal of fostering innovative research and diverse learning opportunities.” He further emphasized that the centre will act as a driving force for academic and research excellence, motivating students and researchers to explore new possibilities in their fields.
This collaboration between IITH and Nikon India is expected to significantly contribute to advancing scientific research and learning in the country.
