Hyderabad: Institute of Hotel Management Hosts 'Little India 2025' Food Festival
The Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Hyderabad, is organizing a two-day event called ‘Little India 2025’ on January 25 and 26. The festival will take place at the IHM campus in Vidyanagar and is open to the public.
According to Sanjay K Thakur, Principal of IHM Hyderabad, the event will run from 12:30 PM to 11 PM on both days. “Entry is free, and visitors can explore stalls featuring cuisines from various Indian states and even international dishes from countries like Japan and South Korea. With students from across India and NRIs participating, it truly represents the spirit of Little India,” he said.
Thakur explained that this festival has been an annual tradition for the past eight years. It is a way to honor India’s rich cultural diversity and celebrate the idea of ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ leading up to Republic Day.
He also emphasized the event’s deeper purpose. “It’s more than just a festival. It’s a platform for students to develop skills in culinary arts, entrepreneurship, and hospitality management, preparing them to face real-world challenges with confidence,” he added.
The highlight of ‘Little India 2025’ is its focus on regional Indian cuisines, with each dish showcasing unique traditions and flavors. Alongside the food, the event will feature fun activities, sports, and career guidance sessions designed to inspire aspiring hospitality professionals.
Rachna Agashe, Head of Department at IHM Hyderabad, shared more details. She said that over 100 students would be participating, running 26 stalls featuring a variety of dishes. “It’s an open day where visitors can explore our campus, learn about the courses we offer, and see our facilities. Our goal is to nurture future entrepreneurs who can create jobs and handle real-life challenges effectively,” she explained.
This vibrant celebration of culture, food, and talent promises an enjoyable and enriching experience for all visitors.
