The Institute of Hotel Management, Hyderabad (IHM-Hyderabad), recently hosted an exciting Intra-Collegiate Flower Arrangement Competition. The event transformed the institute into a beautiful floral wonderland, celebrating creativity and artistic expression. This competition highlighted the importance of floral aesthetics in the hospitality industry.
For the first time, the competition included a Professional Category, allowing experienced florists and professionals from top hotels to participate. Their stunning floral arrangements inspired students and helped bridge the gap between academic learning and industry standards.
Students from various institutes across Hyderabad, including the Culinary Academy of India, Regency College of Culinary Arts & Hotel Management, and the Indian Institute of Hotel Management and Culinary Arts, took part in the event. Participants competed in different categories such as Freestyle, Flower Decoration, Ikebana, and Bouquet Making. Their creations were judged based on creativity, color harmony, and presentation.
The competition was a grand success, filled with vibrant floral displays and enthusiastic participants. It reinforced IHM-Hyderabad’s commitment to nurturing talent in the hospitality sector. A panel of esteemed judges, including Ikebana Master Ho-Kiku A. Vineetha Sunil Kumar and other experts, carefully evaluated each entry. They praised the participants for their craftsmanship, creativity, and attention to detail.
Sanjay Thakur, Principal of IHM-Hyderabad, expressed his appreciation for the participants. He emphasized that floral arrangements play a crucial role in hospitality and event décor. He also highlighted that such competitions help students develop essential artistic skills for creating memorable guest experiences.
The event concluded on a high note, with participants and spectators admiring the breathtaking floral creations. Winners were honored with certificates and accolades in recognition of their talent and dedication to floral arrangement.
