Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), along with the HYDRA demolition team, has begun large-scale demolitions in the Ayyappa Society area of Madhapur.
The operation, called the “HYDRA Baahubali Mission,” uses advanced machinery to quickly and efficiently demolish illegal buildings. Early this morning, the HYDRA team started by targeting a massive unauthorized structure that had been a long-standing issue in the area.
According to GHMC officials, the demolitions are part of an ongoing effort to enforce urban planning rules. “This action is necessary to maintain the city’s safety and structural integrity. We are addressing constructions that have clearly violated regulations,” said a senior GHMC representative.
The HYDRA team is known for its precision and speed. Officials expect the demolition to be completed within hours. Nearby residents have been asked to avoid the area for their safety during the operation.
Public reactions to the drive have been mixed. While many support the tough measures against illegal buildings, some are worried about the potential impact on livelihoods. GHMC has stated that building owners were given proper notice and assured that the demolitions are being carried out lawfully.
This initiative is part of GHMC’s larger effort to remove illegal encroachments in Hyderabad and ensure that urban development follows the city’s master plan. More such operations are planned for other areas in the coming days.
