HYDRA intensifies bulldozer operations, demolishes illegal buildings

The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRA) carried out an anti-encroachment drive in Kukatpally on Thursday. They recovered government land located behind Holistic Hospital on the Kukatpally-Nizampet road.

Officials used JCB machines to demolish perimeter walls and other illegal structures built on the land. The land, originally allotted to an army employee, had been encroached upon. Authorities found that approximately 1,253 yards of government land had been taken over unlawfully.

For years, the army officer tried to reclaim his 300-yard plot but was unsuccessful. Eventually, he filed a complaint with HYDRA, providing strong evidence of the encroachment. Commissioner AV Ranganath led an investigation, which confirmed that the land had indeed been taken over illegally.

Once the encroachment was verified, HYDRA officials immediately took action. The land was meant for the use of an army employee, but over the years, unauthorized construction had taken place. Despite multiple efforts, the rightful owner faced difficulties in reclaiming his property. On Thursday, HYDRA officials arrived with JCB machines to demolish the illegal structures. They broke down the gates and removed the boundary walls. Finally, the 300-yard plot was returned to the army officer.

In another operation, HYDRA demolished a wall blocking access to the Outer Ring Road (ORR) service road at Rallaguda village in Shamshabad mandal.

Residents of Rallaguda had complained about a 155-meter-long wall that was obstructing the service road. Acting on their complaint, HYDRA officials took action and removed the barrier to restore access.
