The minister recently met with representatives from five major pharmaceutical companies in the state. These companies included Dr Reddy’s, Aurobindo, Hetero, Laurus Labs, and MSN Pharmaceuticals. During the meeting, the companies expressed their interest in investing in Green Pharma City. Sridhar Babu welcomed their proposals and expressed confidence in the area’s growth potential.

The minister also shared updates on the city’s infrastructure. He mentioned that work is ongoing to ensure a continuous supply of water and electricity. Additionally, there are plans to build a 300-foot-wide highway from Kongara Kalan to the Regional Ring Road. The project is expected to move forward, with the tendering process completing by June next year. For better transportation, a parallel metro rail system will also be developed.

Sridhar Babu further emphasized Telangana’s competitive advantage over other states like Gujarat and Odisha, which may offer cheaper land but lack the necessary ecosystem for pharma industries. He mentioned that a centralised steam supply system, through pipelines, would be introduced to reduce the need for individual boilers for each company. The water supply will be handled by the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC), and an upcoming industrial electricity policy will be announced soon.
