0

The state government’s subsidized meal program, known as the “Annapurna Food Scheme,“ has successfully served a colossal 10.45 crore meals under the GHMC Frontier since its launch in 2014. It presently serves 30,000 meals daily for every individual, with meals comprising basic hygiene at an affordable amount of Rs. 5.

Under the guidance of our CM K. Chandra Shekar Rao’s vision of ensuring that no one stays hungry or sleeps on an empty stomach, the scheme is progressively succeeding in providing meals to people from all walks of life, with Indian homemade food consisting of sambar, pickle, rice, curry, and curd to feed all the wage and non-wage workers.

This massive public feeding program has enabled laborers, many students, cab and auto drivers, security guards, and employees to depend on its policy. Recently, the authorities have worked on providing comfortable seating facilities in the serving areas in order for the public to eat conveniently

The success of the Anapurna Food Scheme began during the COVID-19 lockdown when lunch and dinner meals were provided to the urban poor, which has helped the people get through tough times.

At present, under the GHMC frontier, there are 150 centers providing meals at an amount of Rs. 5, of which 15 places were arranged with proposed seating facilities, and the rest of the 17 places are awaiting the implementation of the same.
