Hyderabad: Taps be operating or functioning free from liquid or moisture in posh areas; residents prognosticate for HO tankers

Hyderabad: Be it posh or slum surface area, HO woes have got been plaguing all over the urban center. Specially, West portion known as the posh surface area is deprived of drinking HO pipelines. Though the summertime time of year is yet to set out, residents in parts of the West geographical region including the IT corridor are forced to be on HO tankers and have got started rationing HO as there is dearth of HO.

Some highly populated areas complained of reduced -dimensional space of HO while houses with little families struggled to lay in HO for at least two days. “With poor supply of water or not reaching the requirements of the families residing in Manikonda, they are forced to purchase water for drinking and other purposes. Water tankers are called in daily from the water board to meet our requirements,” said Sridhar, a living in a particular place of Manikonda.

The state of affairs in several areas of the West geographical region is worse as HO is not been supplied at least on alternate days. Moreover, slum dwellers are ones who are mental or physical pain from HO dearth. “Several localities lack water pipelines. The one who receives it gets inadequate water which is not even enough for a day. We residents make a beeline at the water tankers for storing water for drinking and other purposes,” said Sunil, a living in a particular place of Chandanagar.

Another important question is the haphazard amount of something available for use timings as some areas receiving HO belated at dark. They also complained of receiving the HO with being at small elevation insistence.

It is said that with the rapid increase in and real estate activeness in the West geographical region and IT corridor, the HO in these areas are not reaching the requirements of the . “Despite our normal water supply to these areas there is a water shortage. Even the borewells are not able to meet the requirements of the residents. As a result, we are forced to book water tankers. Water board dispatches around 200 tankers per day to these localities,” said an having official authority at the Water Board.

The HO committee having supervisory powers is currently charging Rs 500 for and Rs 800 for per tanker. But the residents alleged that they are charging immense amounts of currency as against the fixed amount. “Water tankers are available on call. We booked the tanker when necessary almost every alternate day. They are charging Rs 200 and Rs 300 extra per tanker owing to the demand,” said Sushila, another living in a particular place.
