Hyderabad is set to become a major sports center in India with the establishment of the Young India Sports University. The city is also being considered as a future venue for the Olympic Games. This new university aims to nurture local talent and prepare them to win medals in upcoming Olympic events.

The university will focus on sports like Shooting, Wrestling, Boxing, Archery, Javelin Throw, and Hockey. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to take all necessary steps to promote Telangana as a key destination for sports in India. The CM also emphasized the importance of identifying sports that are well-suited to the geographical conditions and physical attributes of people in Telangana. Those who are passionate about making a career in sports will be identified and encouraged to train in these specific areas. He expressed his desire for Hyderabad, which has previously hosted the Afro-Asian Games and Commonwealth Games, to eventually become a venue for the Olympics.

In addition to hosting the Olympics, the CM stressed that selected athletes would receive expert training at the Sports University, with the goal of ensuring that these athletes win medals in every sport they participate in.

Revanth Reddy also announced plans to establish sports schools in every Lok Sabha constituency. These schools will train students in their chosen sport, with accommodation provided at the Sports University based on their talent. The CM has directed officials to promote the Sports University of Hyderabad as the central hub for sports in the country and to take all necessary actions to achieve this goal.

To further enhance the training process, officials have been asked to conduct a detailed study of the athletes who won medals in the recent Olympics. This study will focus on the hard work and efforts that went into their success, as well as the support provided by their countries.
