Hyderabad Police Commissioner Position Filled by KS Reddy

The Congress government in Hyderabad has started reshuffling the bureaucracy by appointing new Police Commissioners for Hyderabad, Rachakonda, and Cyberabad. K Srinivas Reddy, a 1994 batch IPS officer, is now the Commissioner of Police for Hyderabad city. He replaced Sandeep Shandilya, who has been posted as the Director of Telangana State Narcotics Bureau.

G Sudheer Babu, a 2001 batch IPS officer, has been posted as Rachakonda Police Commissioner, while Avinash Mohanthy, a 2005 batch officer, has been posted as the Cyberabad Commissioner of Police. The current Cyberabad commissioner M Stephen Ravindra and Rachakonda commissioner DS Chauhan have been directed to report to the DGP office.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has chosen senior IPS officer Shahnawaz Qasim as the secretary to the Chief Minister of Telangana. Qasim was previously the DIG multizone. Qasim will play a key role in the functioning of the Chief Minister’s Office.

Some top IPS officials will be transferred and posted in different wings within two or three days. The transfer of IAS officials is also in progress. The process of creating a ‘Dream Team’ will be completed by the end of December.

The Chief Minister has asked the Intelligence wing to submit reports on the performance of top officials in the police department. Based on these reports, Revanth will make decisions regarding the transfer and postings of IPS officers in key wings of the Police department.
