Hyderabad City police commissioner, C V Anand, emphasized the importance of a proactive approach to handle potential flashpoints in the city. He urged the Central Peace and Welfare Committee to act as peace ambassadors in their respective areas. This was discussed during a meeting with the committee members on Friday, where recent sensitive religious issues in the city were also brought up. Commissioner Anand sought the committee’s help in maintaining Hyderabad’s peaceful atmosphere and handling unexpected situations while continuing their efforts to uphold the city’s good reputation.
During the discussions, participants condemned the disturbances caused by certain individuals. They agreed that respectful dialogue between communities is essential. There was a joint commitment to improving communication between communities and law enforcement to ensure that any issues are quickly and effectively addressed.
Further plans were made for community engagement activities to foster better understanding and cooperation among different religious groups. Over 350 members of the Peace Committee, including leaders like General Secretary Srikishan Sharma and Patron Hafiz Muzaffar Hussain, were also present.
