Hyderabad police have taken action against drug smuggling in two separate cases. They arrested five people and seized a total of 10 kg of ganja.
In the first case, the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) and Chikkadpally Police caught a local drug peddler named Dara Sravan in Amberpet. He was collecting a package from Shaikh Azhar, a supplier from Maharashtra. Azhar, an auto driver from Akola, got ganja from Odisha and sold it in different states to make money. During the operation, the police seized three kilograms of the drug.
In the second case, three people, including two women, were caught smuggling 7 kg of ganja near the bus parking area at Sriramghar Hanuman Mandir, Gowliguda. The accused were identified as Baijayathi Takri (36), Ghouri Jhara (35), and Dhanarjaya Khila (22), all from Malkangiri district in Odisha. They got the drugs from suppliers named Dhaneshwar and Raju, following instructions from their main supplier, Sanjay. Their plan was to deliver the package to a person named Satish Singh in Mangalhat, Dhoolpet, but the police stopped them before they could complete the delivery.
The police have registered cases in both incidents and are continuing their investigation. However, key members of the drug network, including Sanjay, Dhaneshwar, Raju, and Satish Singh, are still on the run.
