Sheikh Parvez had previously been arrested in an NDPS case in Ravulapalem and is currently in Rajahmundry Jail. After his release in April, he worked with a ganja farmer named Deepak from Kalimela area in Odisha to smuggle ganja into Hyderabad for profit. Deepak would transport the ganja in RTC buses to Hyderabad, where Sheikh Farwaz would receive it.

The police intervened in Bhavani Nagar during a ganja transportation attempt, leading to the arrest of the accused individuals. The detained individuals have been handed over to Bhavani Nagar police for further legal action. Police are keeping an eye on ganja trafficking in Hyderabad to stop the illegal drug trade.
