Ganja smuggling continues to be a major issue in Hyderabad, despite efforts by the police to stop it. The problem is not only prevalent in areas like Old Basti Dulpet, but it has also spread to Nanak Ram Guda.

To combat this issue, QR code scanners are being installed in grocery stores and money is being accepted.

Recently, the Golconda police and narcotics team worked together to apprehend a gang involved in selling ganja. The gang consisted of ten members, and four of them have been arrested. However, six others, including two women and a juvenile, are still on the run. The main person involved in this case is Gautam Singh, and his mother and aunt are also accomplices.

All of them run a grocery shop in Nanak Ram Guda, where they sell ganja. It has been discovered that Gautam Singh had a previous drug-related case against him in 2019, while Neetu Bhai, his mother, has faced cases since 2018. Neetu Bhai had a PD Act registered against her in 2021. Despite facing legal consequences, Neetu Bhai continued with her smuggling activities after being released from jail.

The accused are all family members, and the police have frozen 1.53 crore cash from their 16 bank accounts. Additionally, 40.30 lakhs worth of property acquired from the sale of ganja has been seized. The police also confiscated 23.4 kg of ganja, the car used for transportation, two two-wheelers, phone pay scanners, and mobile phones.

The total value of the property recovered from the accused is estimated to be around Rs 4 crores. The family members worked together to sell ganja for quick money. They purchased ganja for 8,000 per kg from Dulpet and packaged it into five-gram packets, which they sold for 250 each.

It appears that this gang has acquired two G+2 houses in Gandhi Nagar and Langar House, earning approximately 50,000 per kg. In total, the gang earns about 30,000 per day.

The police have discovered that this gang was selling ganja to a wide range of people, including construction workers and software workers in Nanak Ram Guda.
