Hyderabad police have introduced new restrictions for Holi celebrations. These rules include banning groups of vehicles from moving together on public roads and prohibiting the throwing of colors on people who do not wish to participate.

BJP MLA Raja Singh strongly criticized these restrictions, calling them a “Tughlaq farman” (Tughlaq order). He accused the government of unfairly targeting Hindus with these rules.

As per the police notification, vehicles, including two-wheelers, cannot move in groups if they cause disturbance, inconvenience, or pose a safety risk. The police have also banned throwing colors or colored water on people, vehicles, or places without consent. Smearing colors on unwilling individuals in public is also not allowed.

The restrictions will be in effect from 6 PM on March 13 to 6 AM on March 15. Additionally, all wine and toddy shops, along with bars (except those in star hotels and registered clubs), must remain closed from 6 AM to 6 PM on March 14.

Raja Singh blamed the Congress government for these restrictions. He questioned why similar rules were not enforced during the 30 days of Ramzan when group gatherings and bike movements are common at night. He argued that the government ignored such activities during Ramzan but was now targeting Hindus during Holi.

Singh further accused the Congress party of being biased, claiming they were acting in favor of a particular community. He even compared Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to the “ninth Nizam,” suggesting that the government was oppressing Hindus, similar to past rulers of Hyderabad.

Instead of restricting Holi celebrations, Singh suggested that the government could have asked Muslims to avoid roads for one day during Holi. However, he claimed that the authorities deliberately acted against Hindus. He urged CM Revanth Reddy to reconsider these policies.
