Hyderabad: To stop the spread of seasonal diseases during the monsoon, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is working with the Department of Health, Medical, and Family Welfare. Together, they are organizing free medical camps in areas of the city where diseases are common.
These health camps will take place from August 5 to August 15. They will be held in 495 colonies across 108 wards that have been identified as mosquito hotspots.
At these camps, assistant medical health officers, senior officers, and assistant entomology officers will work to prevent mosquito-borne diseases.
GHMC Commissioner Amrapali Kata has instructed the Zonal and Deputy Commissioners to ensure that the health camps are managed according to the schedule.
Besides conducting fogging and spraying anti-larvae chemicals, medical and entomology officers have been holding regular review meetings to keep track of the situation.
Health assistants, health supervisors, ANMs, Asha workers, and entomology staff are actively involved in this effort. They are creating awareness and advising people on how to prevent water stagnation and encouraging them to observe Friday as a dry day.
