The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone Team, along with the Gopalapuram police, arrested four people involved in mobile phone theft. Among those caught was a woman. The police recovered 20 stolen mobile phones worth around Rs 1.25 lakh from the group.

The arrested individuals include Sirigiri Kavitha (37) and Vankudoth Prasad (28), who were responsible for stealing the phones. According to the police, Kavitha is a habitual offender and has been involved in 13 previous property-related crimes. Her brother-in-law, Prasad, is also a repeat offender, with seven property offences tied to his name.

The duo would target passengers on RTC buses. Kavitha would unzip bags to steal phones or valuables, while Prasad would pickpocket passengers. They would then sell the stolen phones to Rafi and Moin.
