The Chief Minister of Hyderabad, A Revanth Reddy, has announced strict austerity measures to get the state budget back on track. This means no new vehicles or buildings for the CM’s residence and no unnecessary spending on infrastructure for official purposes.

Revanth has decided to use the vehicles that were previously used by his predecessor and reduce the number of vehicles in his convoy. He also plans to develop the existing Praja Bhavan as a multipurpose official building. The CMO office of KCR in the Pragati Bhavan will be converted into the new CM camp office.

Two other buildings at the entrance of the Praja Bhavan will be used as a guest house for Congress MPs visiting from outside Telangana and a grievance cell for students. KCR’s official residence in Praja Bhavan has been given to Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

There is also a proposal to construct a facility at the MCR HRD Institute of Telangana for informal meetings with Ministers, MLAs, and senior officials. This will allow valuable time to be spent with lawmakers and officials.

Revanth also mentioned that a study on power supply to the farming sector found that the previous government only provided 12-hour power, despite their claim of round-the-clock supply. They had only provided uninterrupted power.
