Housing Society in Warangal Exposed for Shady Deals

Several members of a society in Warangal are facing chaos and alleged irregularities in the allotment of plots. The society was formed in 1978 with 234 primary members. In 1985, the society split a 10.35-acre land into 114 plots and handed them over to the members. However, many members did not register their plots on their names and instead constructed houses using allotment letters. About 20 members did not go for registrations, trusting the society.

After the death of the society’s founding secretary, a member allegedly took control of the society’s functioning without proper authorization. This member formed a committee with his close associates and ignored the interests of the original members and plot owners. Despite the appointment of a Person-in-Charge by the District Cooperative Officer, the committee refused to hand over important records to the Person-in-Charge.

The victim alleges that the committee not only cancelled the allotment of plots for some original members but also fabricated management committee meetings and resolutions with back-dated entries. Plots were allegedly allotted to fake members at prices below society norms, bypassing the proper procedures. The records of the society were tampered with to benefit certain individuals, raising doubts about their authenticity.
