The Kacheguda railway police in Hyderabad arrested a home guard on Wednesday for molesting a minor girl on the Venkatadri Express train. The accused, T Pratap, was caught touching the girl inappropriately while in uniform and without a ticket. He is being produced before the court for judicial custody.
The victim’s father, a resident of Hyderabad, was travelling with his wife and daughter on train no 12798 Venkatadri Express from Tirupati to Kacheguda. The daughter was sleeping on the upper berth while the wife was on the lower berth. It was then that the father noticed T Pratap molesting his daughter.
The accused, a home guard with badge number 105 from Kodur Law & Order police station in Andhra Pradesh, was reported to the police by the victim’s father. The SHO of Railway Police Kacheguda registered a case against T Pratap under various sections of the law, including IPC Section 354 and POCSO Act-2012.
The incident has caused outrage and the accused is now facing legal consequences for his actions.
