HMWSSB Managing Director Reviews Progress of 90-Day Special Drive

Hyderabad: The Managing Director of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), Ashok Reddy, held a review meeting on Monday. The meeting was about the 90-day special drive that the Water Board is currently running. Senior officials also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Ashok Reddy explained that a dashboard has been set up at the Water Board’s head office to monitor this special drive. Complaints made to the MCC about issues like sewage overflow, polluted water, and silt on roads are now being tracked on Google Maps. Each complaint is recorded based on the specific area’s can number. The dashboard also shows how many complaints have been received from each area and how many have been resolved. Depending on the number of complaints, the size of the bubbles on the map changes. This helps officials prioritize and fix problems based on how serious they are.

The waste, or silt, found in the manholes should be moved to dumping yards. The officials suggested that if more dumping yards are needed, proper locations should be identified and set up accordingly.

Additionally, the Water Board advised that homeowners should arrange pits in their houses. If they fail to do so, notices will be issued to them. From January next year, if someone books a water tanker without having a proper pit, extra charges will be applied. The Water Board plans to inform consumers about these rules through SMS messages, and homeowners will also be given the necessary documents directly.
