Attacks on Hindus by Jihadis Increasing
Recently, attacks on Hindus both in India and abroad by extremist Islamic criminals, often referred to as Jihadis, have been on the rise. These individuals, who consider themselves fighters for their faith, are part of a radicalized section of the Muslim community. They believe they can intimidate Hindus through violent and aggressive behavior. From a young age, they are often indoctrinated in Madrasas, where hate for non-Muslims, referred to as “Kaafirs,” is instilled in their minds. These teachings focus on a false sense of superiority, encouraging violence against those who do not follow Islam.
After receiving this ideological training, these extremists are given practical lessons in violence. They engage in activities such as stone-pelting, looting, burning, killing, and raping non-believers. Over time, they become more skilled in terrorism, learning to use bombs, guns, and other weapons.
These groups are often created, funded, and trained by local and national Muslim political parties. Their goal is to create chaos and unrest, hoping to bring about a breakdown in the country’s legal and constitutional systems. This pattern of violence and lawlessness is seen in many parts of the world, with Bangladesh being a recent example.
Dealing with Jihadis: Global and Local Responses
The world has become more aware of how these extremist groups operate, making it easier to combat them. Israel, for instance, has developed successful anti-terrorism strategies. Their efforts have led to significant defeats of extremist groups like Hamas, Houthis, and Hezbollah.
In India, the situation in Kashmir has improved, with many Jihadis and their supporters fleeing. The army, police, and security forces now have greater control over these extremist elements. In regions like the North-East, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, Jihadi groups have been subdued and are now promoting peace and harmony.
The country’s authorities have become more vigilant in taking action against these anti-national forces. While democracy allows for certain freedoms, the government is now taking strong steps to protect the nation’s sovereignty and integrity.
Kerala HC on Encroachments
In a recent ruling, Justice Kauser Eddappagath of the Kerala High Court stated that police do not have the authority to order the removal of encroachments as this is a civil matter. Only civil courts have the jurisdiction to handle such cases. The court’s decision came during the case of Ibrahim and another vs. Union Territory of Lakshadweep and another. The petitioner had challenged a directive from a police officer to remove an alleged encroachment. The court clarified that while the police can investigate any criminal acts, they cannot decide on civil disputes like encroachments.
Gauhati HC on Employee Dismissal
Justice Sanjay Kumar Medhi of the Gauhati High Court recently held that before punishing a delinquent officer after a disciplinary inquiry, it is mandatory to serve a notice to give the officer a final chance to defend themselves. The court ruled that failing to follow this procedure goes against natural justice. The decision was made in the case of Machum Ahmed Laskar, where the court referred to a previous Supreme Court judgment in Union of India vs. Mohd. Ramzan Khan.
Supreme Court Addresses Judicial Delays
The Supreme Court of India recently hosted a two-day meeting with judges from district courts, advocates, and government representatives. The event, inaugurated by the Prime Minister, focused on the issue of delayed justice. Currently, there are about 4.5 crore cases pending in India’s lower courts. The meeting aimed to find solutions to this growing problem and speed up the delivery of justice in the country.
