Hindu Organizations Announce Bandh Today to Protest Vandalism at Shamshabad Temple

Hyderabad: In response to the vandalism at a temple in Airport Colony, Shamshabad, several Hindu organizations have called for a bandh (strike) in the Shamshabad municipality on Wednesday. These groups have requested that people voluntarily participate in the bandh. They are also demanding the arrest of those responsible for damaging the idols of deities in the temple.

On Tuesday, protestors gathered at the Shamshabad bus stand. They burned an effigy of a terrorist and demanded the death penalty for the person who desecrated the temple. They also called for an investigation into what they believe is an ongoing conspiracy behind frequent attacks on temples in the city.

The protestors expressed their frustration with the government, accusing it of failing to protect temples in the state. They are demanding an impartial investigation into the attacks to ensure justice is served.

The police have confirmed that one person has been taken into custody for questioning with the help of local residents. However, no further details about the individual have been shared. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage, and the investigation is ongoing.

In preparation for the bandh in Shamshabad on Wednesday, the police have increased security measures. Additional forces are being deployed at the Shamshabad and RGI Airport police stations to maintain order during the strike.

The vandalism was discovered on Tuesday morning when the temple priest arrived to perform pooja (prayers). The priest noticed that several idols had been damaged. According to him, the vandals broke into the temple by opening the gate and used stones to damage the idols. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
