The Telangana State government plans to create industrial zones between the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR) in Greater Hyderabad. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy wants to use 500 to 1000 acres of uncultivable barren land within 50 to 100 km from airports and highways for this purpose.

In a high-level meeting on industrial development, the Chief Minister emphasized that the acquisition of land for industries will not harm farmers and will promote decentralization and reduce pollution. Officials have been instructed to provide details about the allocated lands for industrial development.

The Chief Minister also prioritized the establishment of non-polluting industries and asked officials to suggest alternatives for industrial development in certain areas of Hyderabad. He ordered a study on the policies of West Asian and European countries regarding bulk drug product companies.

Additionally, the government aims to set up industries in the old nine districts by identifying barren lands away from residential areas. This approach will lead to lower land prices and receive support from farmers. The use of solar power instead of thermal power will also be encouraged. The Chief Minister requested a comprehensive report on the status of IDPL lands in Balanagar industrial area.

Revanth Reddy also directed officials to develop villages as model villages and emphasized the government’s commitment to decentralize industrial growth. A detailed report on the number of industries established in allotted lands and their current status was also requested.
