The Supreme Court has stopped Erra Gangireddy, the main suspect in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case, from being released after June 30. The Telangana High Court had ordered his release, but the Supreme Court put a hold on that decision. The court also questioned the High Court’s decision to grant bail to Gangireddy after July 1.
The CBI, which is investigating the case, was represented by additional Solicitor General Sanjay Jain in the Supreme Court hearing. Meanwhile, Viveka’s daughter Sunitha filed a petition in the Supreme Court asking for Gangireddy’s conditional bail to be cancelled.
The Supreme Court had previously ordered that the investigation into the murder case be completed by June 30. However, the High Court cancelled Gangireddy’s bail and ordered his release after the investigation on July 1.
