As Dussehra celebrations begin, Hyderabad city has become much quieter. Many residents are leaving the city to celebrate the festival in their hometowns and villages. As a result, many roads in the city are almost empty, creating a scene that feels like a curfew.
However, outside the city, traffic has become a major issue. On the Vijayawada Highway, there have been heavy traffic jams. One of the worst-affected areas is near Kethapalli Mandal in Nalgonda district, especially around the Karrlapadu village.
To manage the traffic, toll gate staff have opened six toll booths on the Vijayawada-bound route. They also set up a seventh booth for emergency services, such as VIP vehicles and ambulances, to help them pass through quickly.
With the Dussehra holidays still ongoing, more people are expected to leave Hyderabad over the weekend. Toll officials are preparing for even more traffic, and they may open two additional toll booths if the situation worsens.
