Hyderabad: Heavy rains have disrupted traffic on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada Highway, particularly in the Suryapet and Kodad areas.
In the Kodad and Huzur Nagar assembly constituencies of Suryapet, the rains were so intense that many neighborhoods were flooded. People living in low-lying areas had to be evacuated for their safety.
Due to the flooding, traffic on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada Highway has been redirected. Vehicles are now being diverted through Nalgonda and Guntur to reach Vijayawada.
Rescue teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were quickly sent to Kodad and nearby villages. They are helping to move stranded people out of the flooded areas.
The State Irrigation Minister, N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, along with local MLAs, are closely monitoring the flood situation in the affected areas of Kodad and Huzur Nagar.
