The Telangana Public Health Doctors Association met with Health Minister T Harish Rao to talk about their issues. They want newly created positions to be given based on seniority, promotions for Civil Surgeons, and positions for all doctors working in public health and family welfare. They also want career advancement opportunities and promotions for public health doctors, a protocol for doctors in official meetings, and a salary of Rs 52,000 for MBBS doctors in rural hospitals.
The representatives also want non-regular medical staff to be prioritized in regular recruitments, pending arrears for second Auxiliary Nurse Midwives to be released, equal pay for equal work for medical staff, job security for contract or outsourcing employees, and compassionate appointments for retired contract or outsourcing staff families. They also want an employee health scheme for all contract or outsourcing staff, similar to the benefits provided to regular employees.
