Health Minister orders District Medical and Health Officers to inspect private hospitals

The Health Minister of Telangana, Damodar Rajanarsimha, instructed District Medical and Health Officers (DMHOs) to cancel the licenses of private hospitals that do not follow government regulations. During a meeting with DMHOs from all districts, the Minister emphasized the importance of accountability to the public. He highlighted the need for extensive inspections in private hospitals to strengthen public health and prioritize healthcare for the poor.

Rajanarsimha directed DMHOs to coordinate government medical health programs and ensure geographical connectivity between Districts, Areas, and Primary Health Centers (PHCs). He stressed the importance of a government health center every 30 kilometers to provide accessible healthcare. The Minister made it clear that private hospitals not meeting government regulations would face license cancellations.

In preparation for the next meeting, the Minister requested DMHOs to gather comprehensive information and work towards improving healthcare quality for the underprivileged. He emphasized the necessity of maintaining government doctor attendance in hospitals and implementing the Clinical Establishment Act at the district level. Rajanarsimha also highlighted the importance of adequate staffing in government hospitals, infrastructure development, and sanitation improvements.

To prevent the spread of seasonal diseases, the Minister urged officials to take preventive measures and provide better diets to patients. Continuous monitoring of doctors’ punctuality and medical services by DMHOs was encouraged. Efforts to enhance services at Arogya Mandirs and improve overall performance were also emphasized by the Minister.
