Hyderabad: Digital Care Hub Launched to Promote Cyber Safety
On the occasion of World Computer Literacy Day, the Hyderabad city police, along with the Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC), inaugurated a new cybersecurity cell named the ‘Digital Care Hub.’ The launch event took place at St. Joseph’s Degree and PG College in King Koti on Monday.
The Digital Care Hub, started by the college’s computer science department, aims to educate students and the public about digital safety. It will serve as a bridge between the community and law enforcement, while also training students to spread awareness about cyber safety both on campus and in the wider community.
During the event, D Kavitha, DCP of Cyber Crimes, unveiled the official logo of the ‘Digital Care Hub.’ She discussed common cyber threats, such as financial frauds, phishing, and online delivery scams. Kavitha also shared practical tips for staying safe online, like using strong passwords, avoiding oversharing personal information, and staying alert to suspicious schemes.
Fr. Anthony Sagayaraja, the principal of the college, highlighted the importance of the initiative. He emphasized that the Hub would help create a safer digital environment for students, faculty, and the community. He also reaffirmed the college’s commitment to preparing students with the skills they need to navigate the digital world securely.
