The Telangana High Court is currently considering a writ petition filed by former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. This petition seeks to halt further proceedings of the Justice L Narasimha Reddy Commission, which is investigating the power purchase agreement with Chhattisgarh and the construction of the Bhadradri and Yadadri Thermal Power Plants during the BRS government.

Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Anil Kumar Jukanti are presiding over the case. The court heard arguments from the Advocate General A. Sudharshan Reddy and has reserved its orders on the matter.

KCR is challenging the Government Order that established a one-man Commission led by a former judge of the High Court. The High Court initially declined to assign a number to the petition due to objections regarding the involvement of the retired High Court judge in a personal capacity. However, this objection was later overruled, and a number was allotted to the petition.

KCR’s counsel, Aditya Sondhi, argued that it was necessary to name Justice Narasimha Reddy as a respondent in the case. He claimed that Justice Reddy held a press conference and made conclusions without allowing KCR to present his side of the story before the Commission.

The court also heard arguments regarding the jurisdiction of the Enquiry Commission and whether it had the authority to investigate matters already adjudicated by other regulatory bodies. KCR’s counsel contended that the Commission’s actions were inappropriate and lacked proper jurisdiction.

Overall, the Telangana High Court is currently deliberating on whether KCR’s petition should be admitted and addressing various legal issues raised by both parties in the case.
