HC Judge urges advocates to be well-prepared with case facts

Hyderabad: Telangana High Court Justice Jukanti Anil Kumar has advised advocates to avoid unnecessary arguments in court, as it wastes valuable time and affects the progress of cases. He emphasized that lawyers should come prepared with the facts of their cases before presenting arguments.

On Friday, three newly appointed judges—Justices Alishetty Laxminarayana, Anil Kumar, and Kalasikam Sujana—visited the Telangana High Court Bar Association (THCAA) after receiving an invitation from the association.

Justice Anil Kumar pointed out that it has become difficult for judges to recall dates and certain details of cases during proceedings. He added that if advocates present incorrect facts, it could complicate judgments. Justice Laxminarayana agreed with this view and suggested that lawyers prepare a synopsis of their cases and provide copies to the judges. This, he said, would help the court reach fair conclusions and speed up the delivery of judgments.

Justice Laxminarayana also reminded advocates to take care of their health, as professional responsibilities should not come at the cost of personal well-being. He emphasized the importance of maintaining good health while managing legal work.

Justice Sujana highlighted the importance of a strong relationship between the Bar and the Bench for the speedy resolution of cases. The event was attended by THCAA president Ayyadapu Ravinder Reddy, vice president A Deepti, secretaries Uppala Shanti Bhushan Rao and Gillela Sanjeev Reddy, joint secretary Vasireddy Naveen Kumar, along with executive committee members and both senior and junior advocates.
