Strict Punishments for Fake Seed Production: Legal Awareness Seminar for Farmers
Wanaparthy: Senior Judge V. Rajani, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, has warned that strict punishments will be given to those involved in producing fake seeds. She made this statement during a legal awareness seminar on farmers’ laws and welfare schemes. The event was organized at Rythu Vedika in Janampally village, Pebbair mandal, Wanaparthy district.
As the chief guest, Judge Rajani emphasized the importance of farmers understanding their legal rights. She also highlighted the Seed Act of 1966, which was created to ensure that farmers receive quality seeds. She advised farmers to report cases where fake products are sold or when agricultural products are priced higher than the Maximum Retail Price (MRP). Complaints can be registered at the Consumer Court.
An Agriculture Officer at the event assured farmers that the department is committed to providing them with all necessary support and facilities. Additionally, Ravinder Nayak, Manager of Telangana Gramin Bank in Pebberu Mandal, explained the qualifications and documents required for farmers to obtain agricultural loans.
Other key participants in the program included Legal Aid Defense Council Uttaraiah, Agriculture Director Shiva Nagireddy, Agriculture Officer Sheikh Munna, TGB Bank Manager Ravinder Naik, and AEOs Jayashree, Anjaneyulu, and Prashanth.
