Harish says Congress has let farmers down

Former minister T Harish Rao, along with former ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Satyavathi Rathod, Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari, and Narsampet former MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy, visited Devaruppula mandal to inspect the damaged standing crops. Harish Rao expressed concern about the Congress government’s lack of focus on protecting farmers, especially after around 20 lakh acres of crops were damaged.

Harish Rao criticized the government for not taking proactive measures to help the affected farmers and for failing to provide timely assistance. He also pointed out that despite the promises made by the Congress party, farmers have been betrayed and left without support. He highlighted the fact that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had time to engage with opposition party leaders but failed to address the needs of crop-affected farmers.

According to Harish Rao, around 120 farmers have died in Telangana since the Congress government took office. He demanded that the government provide compensation of Rs 25,000 per acre to farmers whose crops have been affected. Harish also accused the government of neglecting its responsibilities to ensure proper irrigation and free power for farmers, resulting in further hardships for the agricultural community.
