Harish Rao sends letter to CM Revanth regarding TET fee increase

Former minister Harish Rao wrote an open letter to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy about the increase in TET exam fees. He asked the CM to lower the fees, stating that it was causing a lot of trouble for unemployed youth.

Harish Rao pointed out that the Telangana government had significantly raised TET fees, leading to a substantial financial burden on students. He criticized the government for not providing fee subsidies to SC, ST, and Divyang students, calling it unfair. He compared the current fees of Rs. 1,000 for one paper and Rs. 2,000 for two papers to the previous fees of Rs. 400 per paper under the BRS government.

He emphasized that it was unjust to charge the same fees to both general category and reserved category students without offering concessions. Harish Rao mentioned that other entrance exams in the state, like APCET and ICET, provided fee concessions to reserved category students, but TET did not. He highlighted protests by B.Ed and D.Ed candidates against the fee hike and lack of subsidy for reserved students.

Harish Rao warned the State government that his party would support students and unemployed individuals in their fight against the high TET fees if they were not reduced.
