Harish Rao predicts TS will become a medical tourism hub in the near future.

Telangana is becoming a hub of IT and pharma in India. The Finance and Health Minister, T Harish Rao, stated that the state, which produces the most doctors, will also become a hub for medical tourism in the future. The government is working on improving healthcare infrastructure by establishing training facilities for nursing and paramedical staff across the state.

The government is now better prepared to handle not only the coronavirus but also any other pandemic, thanks to the experience gained during Covid. They have established oxygen generation plants to provide ample support.

Government hospitals in Telangana are competing with private hospitals, with 76.3% of deliveries now taking place in state-run hospitals compared to only 23% in private hospitals. NIMS has also achieved significant milestones by conducting 100 kidney transplants within six months, as well as numerous liver and heart transplants.

Hyderabad has become a hub for medical tourism, attracting patients not only from other states but also from other countries. Telangana is now excelling not only in IT and agriculture but also in producing around 10,000 doctors annually, contributing to its transformation into a medical hub.

The Minister praised HMTV for recognizing the efforts of doctors and expressed hope for more such programs in the future. A total of 300 doctors from various specializations were awarded, including top public health saviors, emerging women doctors, and doctors from different districts.
