Harish advocates for a capable leader to govern the state, not an incompetent one

Health Minister T Harish Rao emphasized the importance of having a strong leader for the State of Hyderabad. He spoke at a gathering of doctors led by the Telangana Indian Medical Association president BN Rao. He mentioned that while politics may be seen as an opportunity for many leaders to gain posts, the Chief Minister’s role is focused on development and good governance. He highlighted the progress made in the State over the past nine years.

Rao mentioned that in the past, people had to go to neighboring countries to study MBBS, but now there are opportunities to study within Telangana. He also pointed out that newspapers tend to prioritize negative news rather than focusing on the positive things happening for the people. He urged the public to consider whether they want a leader who only exists on paper or a leader who takes proper action.

The minister proudly stated that Hyderabad has become a hub for healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry. He mentioned that Telangana’s practices are often adopted by the rest of the country. The Centre has even copied Telangana’s schemes such as Mission Bhagiratha for providing water to every household and Mission Kakatiya for water conservation.

Rao also highlighted the success of government hospitals in achieving 100% institutional deliveries thanks to schemes like the KCR kit and nutrition kit. He mentioned that in 2014, only 30% of deliveries were done in government hospitals, but now it has reached 72.8%. He concluded by stating that the agricultural sector has played a crucial role in boosting the rural economy.
