Union Minister and Telangana State BJP chief G Kishan Reddy has praised the decision of State Governor Tamilsai Soundrarajan to reject two names proposed for nomination as MLCs. Reddy believes that intellectuals, educators, poets, artists, and social workers should be given priority for these nominations.
Previously, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had recommended individuals with criminal records for the MLC posts, but the Governor rejected them. Reddy argues that it is unnecessary to appoint individuals associated with KCR’s family for these positions.
Reddy also criticized the Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for giving tickets to people who lack self-respect and are willing to submit to KCR and his family. He believes it is unfair to grant nominated positions under the Governor’s quota to such individuals. Furthermore, the Governor rejected the names of those who frequently change parties and only serve KCR’s family.
In contrast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has nominated individuals who are not affiliated with the BJP for positions under the President’s quota. Reddy cites the examples of Vijayendra Prasad, a film story writer, and PT Usha, an international sports person, who were nominated and approved by the President. Reddy supports the Governor’s actions and believes they were the right decision.
