Hyderabad: Legislative Council chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy is upset with the BRS party because there is no clarity on the Nalgonda Lok Sabha candidate. Reddy wanted his son, Gutha Amit, to be given the ticket for the Nalgonda LS seat. However, he was not able to get a ticket in the Assembly elections because the party decided to give seats to sitting MLAs.
Reddy expected the announcement of the ticket during a preparatory meeting at Telangana Bhavan on Monday. He was assured the ticket by party supremo K Chandrashekar Rao. However, party leaders advised working president KT Rama Rao not to declare any names. They believed that since Reddy was responsible for the party’s defeat in Nalgonda, his son’s name should not be announced.
During the meeting, KTR tried to call Reddy but there was no response. Later, Rao went to Reddy’s residence to have discussions. Sources close to Reddy stated that he has given an ultimatum to the leadership, demanding that his son be given the ticket or he will quit the party. It remains to be seen what decision the party will make.
