The Hyderabad City Police has announced new operating hours for all eateries, including restaurants, in the city. According to the order, eateries can stay open until 1 AM daily. Liquor shops, however, must close by 11 PM in the Greater Hyderabad area.
The police clarified that although the government has recently extended the closing time for eateries to 1 AM, they are still waiting for written orders. Until then, eateries like hotels, restaurants, dhabas, ice cream parlors, bakeries, tiffin centers, coffee shops, tea stalls, and pan shops are allowed to remain open until 1 AM. Other shops, excluding eateries, are permitted to operate between 9 AM and 11 PM.
As per the orders, A4 liquor shops, commonly known as wine shops, can run from 10 AM to 11 PM in both the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area and nearby regions. Bars serving liquor (2B bars) in GHMC and within a 5 km radius can operate from 10 AM to midnight on weekdays, and from 10 AM to 1 AM on weekends.
The police have instructed all Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCsP), Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACsP), and Station House Officers (SHOs) in Hyderabad to ensure that eateries follow these new operating hours.
Any business, including restaurants and liquor shops, that does not follow these rules will face legal consequences.
