BRS Leader KTR Criticizes Governor’s Speech

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticized the Governor’s speech, saying it sounded like a press conference from Gandhi Bhavan. He accused the Governor of speaking like a party worker from the Congress.

Speaking to the media at the Assembly, KTR pointed out that farmers in Telangana were struggling, with many even committing suicide. However, he said the Governor’s speech did not mention any relief measures for them.

He further criticized the government for failing to complete the promised loan waiver for farmers. “Not even 25% of the loan waiver has been completed. We challenged the ruling party to prove that the full loan waiver was implemented, but they failed. Instead, they made the Governor spread false claims, damaging his reputation,” he alleged.

KTR also accused the government of deliberately neglecting the Medigadda project due to political grudges. He noted that contractors had to stage protests at the Finance Minister’s office just to get their payments cleared. “There is no vision in this government, only corruption. They are demanding a 20% commission from contractors and harassing small businesses,” he claimed.

Comparing financial management, KTR said that during the BRS government’s ten-year rule, they took loans of Rs 4.16 lakh crore. However, he alleged that the Congress government, in just 14 months, borrowed Rs 1.5 lakh crore without starting any new projects. He demanded that the government release a white paper on the investments made during the Davos summit.

KTR also dismissed the government’s caste survey as fake. He claimed that a Congress MLC was suspended just for questioning the decline in the BC population. He further vowed to remove and relocate statues of Congress leaders from the Secretariat to Gandhi Bhavan.

Senior BRS leader T Harish Rao also criticized the Governor’s speech, calling it directionless and full of false claims. “Changing the Governor hasn’t changed the speech. It still praises the Chief Minister and makes empty promises,” he said.

Mocking the government’s claims of service, Harish Rao remarked, “The Governor quoted Mahatma Gandhi, saying service to others is the best way to find oneself. But the people of Telangana know exactly whom Revanth Reddy serves—Delhi and Chandrababu, not Telangana.”

He also slammed the caste survey, questioning its accuracy. “How can the government celebrate social justice when the caste census is full of errors? Instead of suspending those who question them, they should provide real answers,” he said.

Concluding his remarks, Harish Rao called the Governor’s address “recycled propaganda” and an insult to the people of Telangana.
