Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has identified improving the state’s financial situation as the biggest challenge for her government. They are currently working to identify areas of financial mismanagement, wasteful expenditure, and financial irregularities. The aim is to bring financial prudence and offer good governance and welfare to the people without burdening them financially.
During the first joint session of the newly elected third Telangana Assembly, the Governor expressed concern over the degradation of democratic institutions over the past nine and a half years. The government aims to restore the core values of the legislature and executive and avoid individual worship within institutions. They are open to constructive criticism from opposition parties and will not discriminate when it comes to development.
The Governor emphasized that the secretariat will not just be a symbolic institution but will be respected as a constitutional authority. They want to instill confidence in the people that they are experiencing true democracy, not feudal rule. Transparency in governance and administration is a priority for the government.
